Reckless
By Craig Lucas

"Even if you love somebody they can still take a contract out on your life."

Reckless is the story of Rachel, a cheerful suburban housewife, who escapes out of her bedroom window on Christmas Eve after she learns that her husband has hired a hit man to kill her. She embarks on a crazy wonderland ride of self-discovery, which takes her from Christmas to Christmas, Springfield to Springfield, psychiatrist's office to psychiatrist's office, living room to office to game show to homeless shelter. Her insane journey finally wins her a hard-earned maturity.

The Chicago Reader's theater critic, Jack Helbig had this to say, "… maybe director Nick Minas has found the secret to making Reckless work…indeed, Reckless flopped at Steppenwolf in the late 80's. But give the play to a poor, struggling company…and it blossoms…Rachael Harrell, for example…made me care about her character's plight--and her transformation--in a way I've never done before."
